Richard Yates ConcertAI’s First Chief Information Officer

High Growth and an Expanded Global Operating Model Make the CIO a Critical New Role

Richard Yates joined ConcertAI over two years ago as the VP, Head of Technical Operations, responsible for cloud operations, remote edge solutions, imaging research, and other leading cloud solutions and integrations. Over the course of the last two years, Richard has worked with all parts of ConcertAI, including RWD products; Real-world Evidence Services; Digital Trial Solutions; Clinical Trial Optimization Solution; TeraRecon’s Imaging Interpretation Solutions; and Patient Solutions Specialty Pharma solutions. Richard came to ConcertAI from Accenture, having been a part of the North American Interactive Leadership Team as the senior delivery lead.

He started in technology over 26 years ago and has built and managed “shrink-wrapped”, web, mobile, client-server and cloud applications. He helped build a web development consulting firm during the height of the dotcom era and then helped build a mobile and web-based environmental inspections business in the early 2000’s as well as being the de-facto CIO of an environmental services business that grew into a multi-million-dollar enterprise in only a few years.

He began working in the pharmaceutical and healthcare space as a software developer in 2004, as part of a development team building a web-based adverse events reporting system. In 2006, he began working with McKesson in their healthcare information systems business helping build and support numerous provider-facing systems directly involved in patient care. When not at McKesson, he had the good fortune to lead the team that developed the first iPhone applications for IHG and The Home Depot.

At Accenture he continued to be involved in systems development and pharma/healthcare. He was the technical lead for a global adverse event reporting platform, developed and supported enhancements to a time and expense application for a big pharma company, helped develop prototypes and lead the team for a healthcare digital platform for a “Hackathon” event. Also, he was a critical team member leading a significant workstream building out an RWE/RWD solution globally over several years that included EMR, mobile and DICOM components. He also led a team developing the platform for a digital therapeutics business.

Apart from the systems work, he has held certifications as a senior technical architect, PMP-certified project manager, SAFE Agilist and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. He has led and managed numerous teams across multiple geographies, including India, Europe, and the United States.
