Role Summary:
The Director, Data Science AI will lead a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers bridging medicine, epidemiology, and AI. You will enjoy working with a highly talented and diverse team and will have the opportunity to work with one of the richest data sets available in the industry to assist with clinical trial design. Your team will be responsible for data exploration, analysis, prototyping and implementation of machine learning methods and new approaches to improve and optimize clinical trial design and the efficient running of clinical trials.
As the Company’s strategy is designing studies based around both study intent and relative to the current standard of care and running studies where the data are collected from standard of care data sources (e.g., EMR, LIS, PACS) expertise in handling real-world data and deriving new concepts from those data will be critical.
This role reports to the Vice President of Data Science.

• Own a series of AI and ML solutions and capabilities deployed within the Company’s clinical trial design and Digital Clinical Development solutions; define an ongoing roadmap for new AI/ML solutions; and plan feasibility research to enable this roadmap.
• Lead a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers to develop novel approaches and AI solutions to improve and accelerate clinical trial design by leveraging ConcertAI’s Real World Data and technology.
• Work directly with product team and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop specifications, and provide input to the roadmap.
• Provide clinical guidance on modeling assumption, model interpretation and validation.
• Work closely with the engineering team to provide AI solutions ready for integration into enterprise-grade software solutions.
• Communicate, interpret, and explain modeling results to internal and external stakeholders with diverse backgrounds.
• Author abstracts and manuscripts for publications to showcase ConcertAI’s Real World Data and data science capabilities.

• MD or PhD in a STEM field.
• Clinical and/or clinical trial experience.
• 5+ years of data science experience (statistics, data mining, machine learning)
• Experience using Python data science stack: including pandas, scikit-learn.
• Experience leading a data science team.
• Experience in the life science/healthcare domain using Real World Data (e.g., medical claims data, EMR data).
• Strong project management and technical leadership skills with an enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary and fast paced environment.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology or medicine and extensive work experience in data science with skills ranging from data exploration to machine learning.
