Interior Furnishings and Architectural Specialties for the Education Environment

August 18, 2011

The demand for collaboration is higher than ever in the education environment. Creating space that not only supports, but encourages a team effort is important. It is our philosophy that working in concert with varying groups allows for the most success and efficiency possible and in the learning environment, this harmony of collaboration happens between faculty, students and technology.

Allsteel has two brand new award winning lines of solutions (see below post about NeoCon 2011) called Gather and Involve, which are designed to meet the needs for Higher Education. (The first four pictures shown below were taken at NeoCon 2011, Merchandise Mart, Chicago.)

The diverse nature of activities and environments employed within any higher education system call for interior solutions to match the varying spaces required. That is why at Concert Architectural Interiors, we have the built-in capability not only to assist with space planning and programming, but to help select, order, and install the perfect solutions for your space and budget. See below for Allsteel’s new lines and more educational environment solutions:

Benefits for Buying Your Office Furniture in 2011

March 8, 2011

That’s right: there are benefits (tax & financial) for purchasing your office furniture in 2011! With the recent passing of a US congressional act that affects Section 179 of the IRS tax code, businesses can deduct the full purchase price of office furniture procured (and put into use) between January 1st and December 31st in 2011.

For more information go to:

In a recent newsletter from Inscape, they summed up the affects of Section 179:

•   2011 Deduction Limit - $500,000 (up from $250k previously). Good on new and used equipment, including office furniture and new software.
•   2011 Limit on equipment purchases – $2 Million Dollars (up from $800k previously).
•   “Bonus” Depreciation – 100% (taken after the $500k deduction limit is reached). Note: bonus depreciation is only for new equipment. This can also be taken by businesses that exceed $2 million in capital equipment purchases.
